Tamarind
- The Story:
A
troop of evil spirits targets the small town of Tamarind for a
new military post. These forces have the ability to transform
from their hideous reptilian shapes into foul-smelling moths
a part of their invasion tactic.
The evil spirits find easy access through the egos of two characters:
Pastor Arlen Grime (who lusts for a mega-church and fame) and
Tom Murray (a man devoured by his hatred of everyone and everything
in town).
As the legal battle over a religious symbol (instigated by Murray)
ramps up in Tamarind, all hell breaks loose. A powerful attorney,
John Dercas, arrives to represent Murray and to bring the town
to its knees. Soon, other questionable people invade the town.
And the presence of moths grows.
One pastor, Arty James, recognizes what is happening. Forced to
resign from the staff of Grime's church (True Faith), Arty and
a remnant of residents form their own church; they become victims
of numerous evil acts. They have only a single weapon against
the evil onslaught - prayer.
Their prayers are answered when angelic beings appear around town
- unseen by humans.
Evil continues to run rampant as emotions run hot. Major players
become the victims of explosions and unexplained accidents. It
seems that Tamarind is being destroyed when demon worshippers
begin their sacrificial rituals in the area.
In an action-packed climax, spiritual forces clash in the sanctuary
at True Faith as Pastor Grime is dragged into the midst of the
melee. Key evil figures are brought down and the town is saved
from demonic oppression.
